Before you pick a vacuum source

SYS-GRP workholding is designed to work with a wide range of vacuum sources. You do not need a single "approved" pump. What matters is consistent airflow and a usable vacuum level for your workflow.

Rule of thumb

Practical airflow examples (CFM)

Workflow / scenario Practical airflow range What to expect
Single pod, non porous material 0.7 to 1.5 CFM (20 to 40 L/min) Strong hold with simple plumbing
2 to 4 pods, general bench work 2 to 4 CFM (60 to 115 L/min) More stable hold, faster recovery after small leaks
Multi pod arrays, porous material, or production duty 5+ CFM (140+ L/min) Best consistency, especially with valves and zoning

Vacuum source options by category

Below are several vacuum sources we have tested internally, or have been validated through trusted users during SYS-GRP development. This list is not exhaustive.

1) Bench friendly continuous duty sources

2) Portable / jobsite sources

3) Budget pump options (with caveats)

We will continue to add options here as more testing and feedback comes in.
